Canada air traffic controllers sending cheesy pizza hugs to the US

Canadian air traffic controllers are sending hundreds of pizzas to US air traffic controllers as a sign of support for the beleaguered federal employees that are working without pay.

About 10,000 air traffic controllers who work for the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) are considered “essential” and are expected to work, despite not getting compensated.

A National Air Traffic Controllers Association official warned that if the government shutdown continues for another few months, there won’t be any workers left because many can’t keep showing up if there’s no money coming in.

The government shutdown, caused by a disagreement between the Trump administration and Congressional Democrats over funds to build a wall along the southern border, began Dec. 22.

Pizza makes people happy–especially when it’s free, and sent in the name of solidarity and support. But, is it healthy? Could pizza actually be a better option for breakfast than that sandwich you bought? Let’s check it out.
