For decades, the US has dropped the same deal on the table for North Korea: give up your nukes, and we’ll lift our sanctions. But, for decades, North Korea’s offer was: lift ALL sanctions, and then we’ll give up our nukes.
This year, their position was unchanged: first, lift sanctions, and then we’ll denuclearize. And, this year, the US walked.
