
Trucks attempting to bring desperately needed food and supplies into Venezuela were met with deadly fire by the Venezuelan military under control of President Nicolás Maduro.
- The aid was promised by opposition leader, Juan Guaidó.
- Protestors supporting Gauido filled the streets in hopes of opening a path for the supply trucks, and blocking the military’s effort to turn the aid back. The military used tear gas, rubber bullets and deadly force to shut down the operation.
- The country is experiencing near-economic collapse along with a humanitarian disaster, mostly out of mismanagement and corruption under Maduro, the country’s socialist dictator.
- Thousands of protesters cross Venezuela are calling for him to step down.
