The Wisconsin Supreme Court struck down Governor Tony Evers’s efforts to extend a stay-at-home order. With it, restrictions on businesses were immediately lifted, including those that had forced bars to close.
Since the order was lifted, photos of unmasked, close-sitting patrons flooded social media.
Wisconsinites don’t seem to want a “new normal.” They just want “normal.”
Across the country, businesses and patrons will make choices that could either bring economic relief or another spike in COVID cases.
Here are a few examples of businesses navigating their future.
mannequins are new normal for a well-known restaurant
One Virginia restaurant has embraced reopening with social distancing. In their “new normal” the staff will fill vacant seats with ambiance-creating period-dressed mannequins, ensuring that diners are correctly spaced. The owner explains, “We’re all craving to gather and see other people right now. They don’t all necessarily need to be real people.”
distancing in gymnastic workouts
A Texas gymnastics center reopened their 30,000 square foot facility to children, each of whom will receive their own 10-feet wide area for workouts, complete with barriers and sanitized mats.
As states begin to reopen, what could our new normal look like? Check out our vision here.
